A recent third party tool recently required me to make a small DNN core change and I'm wondering if anyone can comment on what this really does and means for the DNN site in case I'm accepting and coding around something that could bite me later.

In the default.aspx I simply added the runat="server" attribute to the <head> tag.

Big deal?

I'm too poor for anything other than the community version

When you add this, it means the module can now make changes to the head on pages where that module is used. It's probably harmless, or it could be the developer ran across something he/she couldn't figure out how to do unless the head was changed. You should ask the developer. You can also compare the head in the source to a page that doesn't use the module.

Great thanks.  Haven't had any issues and hopefully it'll stay that way.
