I never mangled with ADMIN > FILE MANAGER until now. I wanted to restrcit all files uploaded inside a particular folder a user role (for downloading/opening).

So I went to the file manager, click on properties for the folder, permissions and set that role with OPEN permissions and copied permission to subfolders (no subfolders inside btw only files). It didn't work, anonymous user can still download files if they have direct link. So I added a DENY for all user to open files. But again direct link worked for anonymous.

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance as always for your support.

Max:

For Standard folders, anyone with the path to the file can download the file, despite any permissions within DNN.

If you truly need to Secure a folder from Open access, you need to create a Secure or Database folder.
