I have a DNN 6.02.04 site that allowed thousands of bogus user registrations before I managed to halt it.  

This site is having performance issues now and crashes when I try to do simple edits such as to the Events Calendar.  There no way I can manually delete the bogus registrations using the stock tools, one by one, it would take months working full time at it.

Can I directly edit the SQL Server tables ( I have some familiarity with SQL Server) and delete the bogus accounts?  If so, is there more than one table I would have to address?

You should avoid directly editing the SQL tables unless you have a very thorough understanding of how all the user tables are interlinked - there are any number of cross-referenced tables in the system and just deleting the user account tables alone can wind up with all other sorts of issues.

Your best option instead is to JUST edit the isDELETED flag for the bogus users in the UserPortals table. And then let dnn clear all the cross references - by using the Clear Deleted Users option in the user manager.

PS - on a dnn 6x site you will also need to look at a way of cleaning out the bogus user folders - not sure that they are properly cleaned up on that older version of dnn.

Thanks for that great suggestion. 

 I do wish I had received it a few hours ago.  I am currently in the process of manually deleting bogus user records from 6 tables I found referenced in several sources.  If this crashes and I have the hosts restore the database, I'll go with your suggestion.  I am finding that the userProfile table has about 90,000 bogus entries.
