I have an Agenda page using the events module and I want a slave list on the Home page of the site with only 3 items, linking to the Agenda page.
I tried all kind of things to get this to work, but none of them seems very portable or well structured.

I wonder if I'm missing something?
What would be the normal way to accomplish something like this with the events module (without using any external modules)?

Thanks, Timo

Add a new Events module to the Home Page.
Include other events module events as a subcalendar.
Use a List output and limit to 3 events.
Use a Repeater view for the list (so you can template it)
Use Templates to control your output (and links)

Thanks Mike.
Actually, that's what I did, but I had to manually tweak the links to make sure they ended up on the agenda page and not open in the current module on the home page.
It works, but to me that's not a sustainable solution.
If an admin would move the agenda page or rename it, let alone add another language to the  site, this will fail.
This is why I had the feeling I'm missing some option to do this in a different way..?

Timo,

Another option would be to use the Reports module with an HTML template output.

Either way, if you build the link to point to the page using the TabID of the page, the page can be moved/renamed without breaking those links.

Right, or XMOD.
But I'm looking for a solution without hard coding moduleids and tabids in the template, that's what I meant with "portable".
This is a department portal for a client who is going to create about 25 portals like that.

I don't want to go in and change the template every time (which is a hassle in the Events module IMHO)
It would be faster for me to create a "Events Latest" module I think ;-)
If that's not possible I will log is as an enhancement.. :-)
