After upgrading to DNN 7.3.3 we can no longer edit the permissions on our pages. 

From the page to be edited -> Edit Page -> Edit Permissions -> Select a role from the "Select Role" drop down menu -> Select the "Add" button.  Permission editor shows "The role specified is invalid.  Please specify a valid role."

Checked the even log for our production site and there is not error reported there.

Note: When we performed the upgrade in our dev/test environment this issue did not occur.  Permission editing works fine there.
