Hello, I'm trying to install DNN 3.02.02 using an Oracle 10g database (instead of the sql server db). But without success. I searched on the Forum on Oracle installs but nothing came up, only to buy a data provider from the snow<something> website. I've already installed the .NET data provider that Oracle supplies for Free and I was wondering if I can use this one instead and if so, what do I need to configure on the web.config to make use of this database.

Thanks in advance.

The .NET provider for Oracle is not enough. You will need a DNN provider for Oracle which is the one you can find for sell on snowcovered. Visit the web of the vendor for information.

This may help you - I don't know anything about the Oracle providers but this was added to the directory yesterday - at the very least the Vendor should be able to help you.

Thanks for the reply. I would try and see the providers for DNN work for what I'm looking for. Wich is basically using the free oracle version of the database that I have (Oracle XE).

As far as I'm aware there isn't a way to get the standard providers for DNN to work against the Oracle database unless you modify them to look at Oracle (which is what the oracle data provider does).
