I wouldn't wait as it will be some time. Upgrade to 7.3.4 or 7.4 since there has been many critical security updates since then.

If you need features from v7 now then upgrade to 7 now, although you're a few major versions behind so you might experience big upgrade hickups. While the roadmap says v8 will be available in Q4 2015, that's probably an optimistic estimate. It might fall back to 2016.

Note that v7 will be supported when and after v8 is released. V8 is very different. I wouldn't worry about v8 until it's released, is stable and vendors upgrade their modules to it. So it's probably 2 years. Do you want to wait that long when v7 is perfectly fine now.

I won't expect (and hope, in order to get more parts redone properly) that DNN is not available before 2016.
And it might be that next generation doesn't ship with all current features from the beginning - not providing a migration path to V1.

This all sounds very irritating and it is still very early in the development cycle, but I am sure, all developers will do their best to provide the best migration paths possible. ATM it is important to identify all the constraints, DNN is currently suffering from, in order to iron they out, when rebuilding the framework.

Question, if DNN 8 is not available until late this year or next year... What is available for download now listed as version 8?

I downloaded to test on our dev server, and it's quite a mess, so maybe just a preview?

Thanks
