Hi,

I have a query while using DNN. Hope you can solve it or help for it.

I am new to DNN (DotNetNuke). I am trying to install and setup in my local. I have installed DNN community version 7.3.4 from http://dotnetnuke.codeplex.com/releases/[^] - Choosen option was : 7.3.4 - New Install

Also I tried downloading from http://www.dnnsoftware.com/community/download[^] - choosen option was : INSTALL PACKAGE.

One zip file got downloaded which I extracted properly.

PROBLEM: There is no .sln (Visual studio solution) file available after extracting package which can be used to open in Visual studio.

Help me with opening this package in visual studio.

If you want the source then you need to download the source code - it is available as well.

But, really not needed - you can still modify allot just by using the install package (not recommended though).

There are plenty of "how to install dotnetnuke" video tutorials out there on the web.

You usually download and install INSTALL package, even for module and skin development.
If necessary, you may install symbol files as well to access DNN internal code during debugging.
You should stay away from modifying code of the core framework, unless you know, what you are doing - otherwise, you might get issues upgrading (and your changes will be overwritten).
