Just installed DNN on Godaddy hosting platform.  Installation went well  however, to access the website I need to add /dotnetnuke/ after the URL as in:  www.sitename.com/dotnetnuke/   instead of just www.sitename.com

I know this is a basic question, I searched for the answer, but cannot find.

normally you would simply install DNN in your root folder (or else add a portal alias http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/page/... for it), but my understanding is that godaddy is a special case as it forces install's in subfolders https://support.godaddy.com/help/arti... and https://support.godaddy.com/help/arti... may be worth reading also)

I have read through your response and the links but it is all greek to me. I don't understand what I need to do to make my site visible. And the standard answer I found of "Don't use GoDaddy" is not an option. I need help making this work and I am totally lost.

sorry, but I don't have a godaddy account so can't help with exact steps, perhaps someone else who uses godaddy could help (creating a new forum post with a better title such as "getting DNN to work on GoDaddy" might help attract attention also)
