Hi DNN Folks.

I am using DNN ver 5.6.3 using the Events module ver 5.2.3.  Our primary calendar display is a large month display that has its own page.  It displays an event's text on the day that it occurs.  I would add a small sub calendar on the home page that displays only the date with the day being highlighted if an activity occurs on that day.

I've searched the Forum for documentation on sub calendars with no success.  I've tried to find some additional documentation, also with no success.  Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks.

David

The can use the master/subcalendar construction: add a module on the home page (list display?) and add the other (large month) as subcalendar for the module on the home page. Now the home page calendar will display the events from the subcalendar, and the home page mopdule has it's own settings for display.

You can find documentation on the distribution page of events on CodePlex: http://dnnevents.codeplex.com, and there is a pdf with user documentation on the download page: http://dnnevents.codeplex.com/release....

BTW You are working with an old version of DNN as well  as the Events module! Time to upgrade?

Hi Ernst Peter.
Thanks for the link to the Event documentation. I am able to make an event sub calendar now that uses my main calendar’s dates. I’ve moved this module to a small panel. However the events’ text are still displayed. Also the module size is still too large for the page. Ideally, I would like a minimal display of just the month name and day number highlighted if there are events for that day. Do you have any ideas?

We are the midst of upgrading to DNN version 6.2.3. If all continues to go well, this week. I would also like to upgrade our events module from 5.2.3 to 6.02.

Thanks again!!

David

The month view is defined by the schedule control i.c.w. CSS (Event theme), this makes it possible to have different colors and sizes. You might want to try to make your own CSS based theme to make it smaller.

The content of a cell in the calendar is defined by a template (Settings, Template, Month View Event Text).

You also might want to try a list view as default and use the repeater list lay-out in combination with the template to define what is going to be displayed.

If nothing helps, you can always use the XML output of a calendar and make up the display completely yourself...
