please enter advanced Settings of your application pool and check the user being configured.
It is by Default "App Pool Identity", which is a bit more tricky to configure than "Network Service",
which would be fine, if you are solely hosting your own sites on the server.
In this case, you need to grant file system permission to this user and also create a SQL server
account, mapped to your database with dbOwner permission.

Sory, I have been modyfying IIS and now, I get this error and can not resolve.

Server Error in '/' Application.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I have new AppPoll for my site, which has Identity = NetworkService. I suggest this is user, I need.
In SQL, I also have user NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE, which has dbOwner permision to my database.

I was configuring IIS and now, I get this error instead the old one.


If I switch to ASP.NET 2.0 in AppPoll, I get this error.

I think you need to back out your configuration changes.

Recent versions of DNN do not run on .Net 2

I can't - I don't have an idea, how I got there. But, DNN 5.6.0 works on ASP.NET 4, I rode that.
