I was trying to go to the latest version, then I tried the version just below. I'm not sure what version the site was, but it was at least 7.1.x i believe.

School boy error - no back up of the files only the DB :-(

Sorry I was born -_-'

Ok - I suggest that you back up the files you have now before things get worse.

Then try this:
- restore the DB
- delete everything in the files folder
- paste in the upgrade files you unzipped
- copy the web config from your backup files

See if the site will come up.

If it does then you have to selectively copy from you backup files all the pictures etc that you need to keep.

I don't know for sure if this will work. But if it all goes horribly wrong you will have the backups to get back to where you are now and try something else.

Best wishes,

you shouldn't delete folders /portals, /app_data and /desktopModules, as they are containing installed extensions

Tried all that to no avail.

I managed to get the site to update to a lower level successfully but on completion there were loads of errors on the site and if i tried to access the admin menu it threw a 500 internal error.

I then proceeded to upgrade to the next level up and seemed to get stuck at 50% "50% ERROR occured - Installing Module - DDRMenu_02.00.03_Install.zip"

Any recommendations?
