A new website build is acting strangely. When I log in to the site, the logged in version of the site opens inside the modal, pop-up, dialog box instead of the pop-up box closing and logging me into the main window. The only work around I can find is to turn off the modal / pop-up dialog option in the site settings. Also, it only appears to happen using Chrome as the browser.

BTW - I developed the entire site using Chrome, and it didn't show this behavior until I changed from the development domain name to the permanent domain name. Both domains are list as alias' though.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Thanks for any info offered.

Jim

this is for sure a bug, did you check Admin > Event Viewer, whether there are further details logged?

Hi Sebastian,

I think I might have figured out what's causing it.

The domain alias I had in DNN is "www.domain.com" (with "www") and I was visiting the site with "domain.com" (without the "www"). I added another alias "domain.com" and now the site opens correctly on login. Does this sound like it might have been the issue?

I should really get out the habit of adding www to everything related to domains ;-)

usually, DNN should handle www and without correctly, if you add alias for both, make sure, one is marked as primary and you are using canonical or redirect option.
