I have the same problem. I think the issue show up after update to 07.04.02 (216). I figure out this because one module stop working (after get too many events log).

I'm not clear how to check your suggestion (old files versus new DotNetNuke files). Using the Date/Size? When I upgrade to 7.4.2 I didn't get any error. Please, can you give me more details about this?
