I need to create a new skin object control called [NOTICE] with the same behavior as [PRIVACY] but with custom text.  If I were to change the exisitng MESSAGE_PORTAL_PRIVACY.Text text in the GlobalResources.resx file I would have to change it on every upgrade. I want to create my own control and upload it to the portal.

Copying the Privacy control entirely from the admin\Portal directory, how would I modify it so it references my new MESSAGE_PORTAL_NOTICE.Text located in my Notice.ascx.resx file instead of using global reference to the GlobalResources.resx file?  Currently, it uses lblPrivacy.Text = Services.Localization.Localization.GetSystemMessage(PortalSettings, "MESSAGE_PORTAL_PRIVACY") and I need to know how to reference the text in my Notice.ascx.resx file.

If you alter MESSAGE_PORTAL_PRIVACY.Text using the language editor found in Admin::languages, you create a portal specific version, that does not get overwritten on updates. You can alter the name of the link by selecting the resource /admin/skins/privacy.ascx

Leupole, thank you very much for that bit of training. I would never have given it a second thought to visit the Languages section of the portal.
