I just installed Repository 3.1.10 in DNN 3.22, and I'm having some trouble viewing a large video file.  I made the needed environment changes to be able to upload a large (92MB) video file, and it appears to be setup fine, but when I click on the viewer start button, it fails to start or download.

Thanks for any pointers.

what format is the video file? .avi? wmv?

is the web server also a streaming media server?

any errors at all? you said it 'fails', do you see anything happening at all? errors? anything in the log file? if you try to 'edit' the item, you'll see the actual filename that the video has been stored as, can you browse directly to the video by enterning the URL? are you using IE? or FireFox?

This is probably a record for the longest delayed response ever.  My excuse is a flooded basement which housed my computers .

Thank you for attempting to answer my questions and I apologize for the long time in providing the additional detail.

The video format is .WMV, and it is a 30MB file.  It is not a streaming server.  What happens is that the module (using nifty video skin, plays fine in IE, but in Firefox the embedded player indicates that it is locating media then it indicates ‘ready’ in the status bar.  When you click the start button, it just does the same thing again, and never plays.  for media .  There are no errors in the log file when this happens.  It certainly appears to be a problem with Firefox or version 1.5.0.4 at least.

I attempted to use the step by step at this link: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=206213  but it did not help, as my Windows Medial plug in appears to be installed/working properly.  Is there a setting in Firefox that tends to cause this?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Sorry as this is a little off topic, but I have been looking for this answer for some time and have not found it.  What changes do you need to make to be able to upload a wmv or avi file?  I keep running into the File is a restricted file type error.  I can't find the answer to change this.  If you could tell me the steps you took to fix this that would be great.  I already modified the web.config file to allow uploads of more than 90 mb.  I am also wondering if there is a timeout issue for uploading a file say 600mb do you know?  Is there a way to fix that?  Sorry for not being able to fix your problem.  And sorry if this is way off topic.

Thanks for your help.

P.S. - sorry if you were expecting an answer.
