Primarily, the latest version adds RSS feeds per forum. There is also an aggregatted feed you can use with the DNN News or DNN XML module to create a "New In Forum" module.

There's also a couple of refinements and changes related to DNN 3.3 or DNN 4.3

The Standard version is free, while the Premium version has a few extra features and includes the source code.
