Hello and thank you for your help in advance,

I have read in your dnntracker number(DNN-4972) that DNN was thinking about adding this enhancement to 7.3.

From reading the processid was dropped due to medium trust issues.

Was the appdomain added?

If so where in your application was this added?

that's correct - the initial pull request had both https://github.com/dnnsoftware/Dnn.Pl... but we stubbed out the potentially error causing code - you can view the change in the AddGlobalContext method - https://github.com/dnnsoftware/Dnn.Pl...

Thanks Cathal,

My real reason for asking is that I am trying to improve the message by adding more info.

Is it possible to add something of real use like module name that caused the error?

Trying to find causes of exceptions.

I do not think appdomain will point me in the right direct if I only have one dnn portal running?

log4net can only use the information provided to it i.e. the stack trace or else environmental variables such as appdomain. You can update the code to get more details via reflection but this doesn't work in partial trust scenarios, so we cant make that update. In general though, as long a module uses correct error handling then admin->event viewer will have the relevant exception and stack trace

Thanks again Cathal,

I know about the event viewer - just wished there was more info given in log4net though.
