Here's an example of a broken reference. The instrumentation project references log4net. log4net project is not part of the dnn solution. Even after fixing all references in the projects, the solution doesn't compile. Many times I have to reload the solution for the references to clear up. My guess the projects need to compile in a certain order.

im not sure what's different in your setting. Here's all I do - clone the repository, configure IIS so it points to the website folder, open up dnn_platform.sln and do a release build. If I'm refreshing an existing repository, I clean out any uncommitted changes/local edits by doing the following:

git reset --hard

git clean -d -f -x

and then just open dnn_platform.sln and do a release build

I am using DNN_PlatformNoTests.sln. I guess this file is not getting updated. I will use DNN_Platform.sln
