We are using DNN version 7.1.2 in our application and one of our client asked us that when password is expired and he clicks on Reset Password, a link is send in email, which opens the change password page where password can be reset.

Rather than sending email, he wants that Change Password page should open up there itself on clicking the Reset Password button and he can reset the password.

In DNN version 5.2.1, this functionality is working as desired but its not there in DNN 7.1.2. So how to make DNN 7 work as DNN 5 for Change Password functionality.

Richard,

Currently In my application whenever a user's password get expired he gets a "Reset Password" button when he logged in.

By clicking "Reset Password" button, at his email id, a link is received using which he can go to the link where he gets "Old Password", "New Password" textboxes. Using them, he can change his password.

Since this is a bit long process therefore one of my application client asked me whether is it possible to skip the step of receiving password change setting on mail.

I want following scenario when users gets its password expired:

1. He gets a "Change Password" button using it he can change his password at that same login page at that time only.

2. He don't have to go to mail box, then open the link and change the password.

Actually i have upgraded my application from DNN 5.2.1 TO DNN7.1.2 and over there this desired functionality was present. there was no long route of changing password present as it is now in DNN7.1..2.

Therefore, I wanted to know whether it is possible? if yes then how?

Isn't the easiest answer just to not allow passwords to expire?
