We have recently upgraded DNN core from 7.2.0 to 7.4.0 due issues with caching nad page load speed.

Now we are facing a problem with "Site Template Import" function. Site templates were created on 7.2.0 version before update.

We are getting the following error when trying to import site template:

Error message: (Error parsing Website TemplateObject reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalController.ParseTemplateInternal(Int32 portalId, String templatePath, String templateFile, Int32 administratorId, PortalTemplateModuleAction mergeTabs, Boolean isNewPortal, LocaleCollection& localeCollection) at DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalController.CreatePortalInternal(Int32 portalId, String portalName, UserInfo adminUser, String description, String keyWords, PortalTemplateInfo template, String homeDirectory, String portalAlias, String serverPath, String childPath, Boolean isChildPortal, String& message)

It works fine with default site templates (Blank website english, Default website english).

Is there any known solution to this error. We've read this article:

Sebastian, thank you very much for the prompt reply. If i understand you correctly, the way to solve this problem is to re-create site templates on DNN 7.4? Will this solve our problem?

We tried what you suggest, but the error remains the same. Is there any other known solution to this problem?
