We are running 6.2.2 and have noticed that the Admin ability to Upload Skins either through the handy link in Site Settings or through the Extensions module has gone away.

We manage 182 portals and this was a wonderful tool so that our admins could upload their own skins.

Now we are getting flooded with requests to upload a skin because they changed a point size from 10 pt to 11pt or a color from blue to pink.

I have read there is a setting somewhere in Host Settings or Site Settings where I can give Admins rights to upload their own skins in this newer version but I can't find it anywhere.

Can someone tell me where that checkbox has gone to?  Or is this no longer an option for DNN?  (If not, who do I have to pay to get it back?)

Admin users can no longer upload skins, since a skin can contain code that might change things the Host might not want.

AFAIK, there's no setting you can "check" to allow Admins to upload skins.

Bother.  I guess that means I have to hire someone to upload skins all day.

Life would be so much easier without customers.  Nah, maybe not.

I'm sure someone will chime in with why this is a bad idea....but you COULD....

Grant FTP access to the users
Show them how to upload the unzipped files into the Skins and Containers folders
