I have DNN backup software that when it hits the FileStatistics table, things slow to a crawl.  For instance, the last time I ran the backup, it took 12 hours with over 10 of that backing up the FileStatistics table.  When I checked the table it has over 3 million records in it.  Is there any type of best practices for maintaining this table?

I don't see that table in my DNN installations.  I see a FileVersions but not a FileStatistics....

Is that table from a 3rd party module?

It could be a problem with the DNN Backup Software or the module responsible for creating the FileStatistics table, and not DNN itself...

Nope, it is a DNN table.  I ended up posting a question to tech support about it.  This is a partial quote from them:

1. FileStatistics: Used by DAM(Digital Assets Manager) or File Management module to keep track of file stats (each file has a Stats tab in the View Properties)

Once they told me that, I ended up writing a query that would just keep the last 200 or so entries for each file.  Took that table down from 3.5 million rows to 86000.  That should help just a little :)
