Hello DNNizens,

This is my first post on forums. I have run into a strange bug. I recently upgraded our site from 7.1 to 7.4 and was recently testing the email templates and notifications. It seems that al the links in our emails are broken, They are missing the domain. For example, on a friend invite notification, the 'accept" link url is http://tabid/61/userId/1/action/AcceptFriend/Default.aspx. It should be http://www.cosmos-club.org/tabid/61/userId/1/action/AcceptFriend/Default.aspx

Any ideas why this is happening? We are currently evaluating DNN for a long term solution and this bug makes notifications unusable. I have looked at our site aliases, the global resx file and other possible causes and this has had me scratching my head for a few days. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

most likely, you are using customized templates with issues in URLs contained.
Use the language Editor in Admin > Languages (Click the pen for Host or Site in Static Resources column)
and Edit the texts in Default file displayed.

Hello Mr. Leupold,

I appreciate your quick response. I looked at all the settings in the Admin>Languages and could not find a place to set "host" or "base url". I verified the language files and I suspect that it might be something wrong with my web config or friendly url settings since only the domain name is missing. At first I believed something was wrong with the Core Messaging mod as it generates the urls. I was using these articles as references (they have been very helpful in understanding how the email templating actually work)

and

Is there any place else that I should look or modify in order to resolve the issue?

I figured it out. The primary domain was not set. I did not have the option to set the primary domain in Site Alias, so logged into DB under dbo.PortalAlias table and changed one "IsPrimary" values from "0" (all were listed as "0") to "1" true, cleared my cache, restarted the application and sent a test friend request. The urls are formed correctly now. Thanks for your help, hope this helps someone with a similar issue.
