Hello,

I accidentally changed the database user's password so my DNN installation hosted on Godaddy  stoped working and when I logged in with the database user I could only see the system's database tables. Before this unfortunate action of mine, I took a full backup. When I performed the restore , the installation had the same problem and when I also changed the database user's password in the application's settings a completelly new installation started without generating the restored point DB's contents so I have practically lost everything. I tried to perform the same actions in previous restore points and nothing worked.

Could you please suggest anything to solve this problem? Is there a way to regenerate the DB?

(Godaddy has a myLittleAdmin Database Tool so I can't perform all SQL Server Actions)

Thank you in advance

You can't regenerate the database, but you should be able to fix the user issue. I'd start with GoDaddy's tech support.

If they can't help you, I'd take that backup of the database, and a backup of the DNN file directory to a hosting provider who can help you!

Depending on your skillset, you could download the backup to a local SQL server with good management tools, repair the users locally, and then upload the repaired database.

The problem is that since the database user's password change, the database is lost and even if I get to a former restore point, the database does not exist. When I change the password according to the first connection string the installation starts over and the database is empty so I have all the dnn files I need but the a completelly empty new installation...  I have contacted godaddy' s support and the "system restored" they have provided me has just the files and not the databases!!!

without the database, there is no option to restore your site, because it contains all the content (besides images and other files).

I undrestand, I was mostly asking in case there was a tool like akeeba backup on joomla which regenerates the whole installation.
