I'm using DNN v7.3. I did some change in code (adding new field on user control, adding some value to session after succesfully logging in, etc). Is it possible to keep my code changes after upgrade to v7.4? I am interested in using AAD as identity provider so I have to upgrade my DNN code, but I wonder if is any way to avoid rechange the code (a differential mode or any custom mode of update ?)

Best Regards, Marta

you should not modify code of DNN core framework, but use the extension points, which are built in into it.
Any configuration will be kept during upgrades.

So which is the best way to add some fields to user data control or do some actions after logging in? Please point me the correct path to avoid such problem in the future.

there are events you may hook onto (user login should be one of them) and if a user control does not fit your needs, clone the code into your own namespace and create a substituting extension.
