Installed a fresh, 7.4.2 portal, created portal using default template and Gravity Skin. Using the stock DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider. Windows 8.1, IE 11.

The simple act of attempting to edit the stock content HTML module on the home page mangles the content  (the module in the middle, titled "Join the Community...". Just open it in the editor, make no changes to the content, and save, Now the code is altered and the result isn't pretty.

What's worse, furthermore, is that you can't use version history to revert it to the original, since the editor manages to mangle whatever is loaded into it.

I have more problems with what I would think should be the cornerstone of a CMS - the content editor, with DNN. I have tried CKEditor, but that has a whole slew of problems of its own, so that's off the table as a workaround. It's a major obstacle and makes DNN an even harder sell with clients than it already is, because you simply cannot reliably use the built in editor - an issue nobody seems to have when using a myriad of other CMS's. And it's had issues for as long as I can recall (years).

Can anyone suggest how to handle this situation? I know this has been asked before, but can anyone provide clear steps to configure the editor such that it absolutely does not manipulate the source code in any way?

This is actually freshly installed 7.4.1 instance (not 7.4.2 as I originally stated), however, when I go into the HTML Editor configuration settings, the only editor choice I have is DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider - you indicate that a CKEditor provider will also be included in 7.4.2. Do you know where I can download and install the latest CKEditor provider package into my existing 7.4.1 install while waiting for 7.4.2 to be released? I see a May release in CodePlex, and what appears to be a new project in Github, but I'm not sure what represents that which will be included.
