My websites getting slower when I enable advanced url instead of human friendly url.
Ofcource the advanced url is better for SEO but performance should be good for SEO aswell.

Is this a DNN core issue or is there a way/setting/option to avoid the website getting slower when turning on advanced url

there have been performance issues logged recently regarding AUM, which will hopefully been addressed in DNN 8.
You may make sure, there are no orphaned or unnecessary entries in TabUrls table.

Thanks Sebastian!

It's a clean portal, I checked and no orphaned or unnecessary taburls in the table.
Hopefully it's fixed in DNN8. Do you think DNN8 will be released in august or is it delayed already.

Hi Willem,
I wouldn't expect it before September, version 7.4.2 hasn't released yet.

Another real concern regarding switching from human friendly to advanced url is to first check if your site has been indexed by google by using the search term:

site:yoursite.com

In my case I have over 100,000 indexed pages, and in the event  I switch to advanced url, will loose all of the indexed page and it will take quite a while to have google re-index all of the page (one may have other sites back linking), hence defeating the objective of SEO!

My advise would be to stick to human friendly url for established website, and only convert to advance url for new websites, unless DNN comes up with a 301 redirect of the previous url to the new advanced url.

Plus some third party modules do not work with advanced url method.
