We have a fair list of short urls on our current non DNN site that will need to be migrated across to our new site  by mid august.
These short URLs are used by Marketing in printed literature to provide a friendly link to pages sometimes buried in 3 - 4 navigation levels.
What are the easiest/best/available options to manage short URLs in DNN

There are different ways to achieve this. What I did so far is that I added virtual directories to IIS pointing to the desired page, but this is propably a technique that was necessary in DNN 4 :-)

The other way is having a database containing the "full" Urls and the shortened ones, and setting up the custom errors page for HTTP 404 in IIS to some script that resolves this or displays a 404 error message if it is not found. This seems to be a solution that works this way: https://dnnurlshorty.codeplex.com/ - but I did not get it working on DNN 7 for testing, sorry. When I have time I'll have a look at it.

 Sorry for not replying quickly, I have been away and never quite managed to get back to it until now.
Yes, I thought of virtual directories but that could be unmanageable with the amount we are talking about, I will look at a database solution if possible.
