I'm trying to import a portal template coming from

DNN 07.04.01 (280) into DNN 07.01.00 (2676) and I receive

the error message: Template is not a valid site template file

along with this long list of errors: https://goo.gl/x3twqZ

Anyone any idea on a possible workaround?

Much Thanks.

Hi Trent,

Maybe is because you are trying to import template from a newer version of Dnn to an older one?

If you can import the template into another Dnn 7.4.1 install without any problems this should suggest that you can't import from a newer version.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Geoff.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, we're aware of the root cause of the issue. What I need is a workaround which

I believe someone provided. They suggested that I delete the offending lines in

the portal template and try again.

Unfortunately, the target site is on an older version of DNN and I don't have

control of the upgrade.

I'll come back to this thread and let others know if the recommended solution works.

Solution should be the same as from your similar question you posted here:

Yep. Apologies for the duplicate post. I created an account and posted the first message. A few days passed before it was published so I questioned whether or not it actually went through. I tried to remove one but couldn't find an option.
