When I try to create my data provider with the following code:

objProvider = CType(Framework.Reflection.CreateObject("data", "", "GISDyn.Login.SqlDataProvider"), DataProvider)

I get the following error:

Cannot convert to class 'DataProvider'.

Where 'DataProvider' is my data provider class.

The CreateObject function evaluates correctly and returns a DotNetNuke.Data.SqlProvider object, but the CType function fails to cast to my DataProvider type.  I don't understand why it is failing at this point.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Nevermind, got past this.  My namespace was all screwed up.

New Problem

Why does the SqlDataProvider that I am getting back have an empty connection string?  I am using the provider type "data" which has connectionStringName="SiteSqlServer" which should supply my SQL connection string to the "data" provider type.

Problem solved, just replace connectionStringName with the actual connectionString.
