I upgraded an old install to 7.4.1.  It may be relevant that this install has no Portal with ID 0.

I can successfully add a portal (Site management | Add portal).  After adding the portal clicking the pencil icon to edit the new portal's settings causes a crash (System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DesktopModules.Admin.Portals.SiteSettings.BindMarketing(PortalInfo portal) at DesktopModules.Admin.Portals.SiteSettings.BindPortal(Int32 portalId, String activeLanguage) at DesktopModules.Admin.Portals.SiteSettings. (EventArgs e))

It *is* possible to edit the new portal settings, but only by accessing the site though the new portal, and logging in as Admin/host at that URL.

There were two portals already on the site that crashed, in the same way, before the upgrade.  I thought that this might be fixed by 7.4.1's improved tolerance to not having a zero portal.  It is not fixed, those portals still crash when trying to edit portal settings from the Site Management page.  There are six other portals that do not crash when editing portal settings.

Is there a workaround that will let me edit the settings of a brand new portal; other than via that portal's home url?

Richard,
issues with missing portalID = 0 from DNN 7.4.0 should have been fixed in 7.4.1, however, I created a script to create a Portal 0, if necessary (I Need to search for it).
If there are issues with site Settings, please try my AdjustPortalSettings script https://dnnscript.codeplex.com/releas...
Note: you'll need to restart DNN afterwards.

Hi Sebastian,

Thank you. I tried your portal 0 script on it before the upgrade. It did solve some problems, but not this one.

I did point out there was no portal 0 because it's unusual. This time I don't think it's the cause. There are eight portals in the install, two crash, six do not. I'd expect the 0 portal issue to hit them all equally.

Best wishes,
