Is there a way to export multiple page (page tree) from a portal and import it in an existing portal.

I know you can export the total page tree of a portal in a new portal (with site templates).
This doen't work for this situation because the portal already exist.

The pages are all in the same DNN instance so it more like moving pages from one portal to another portal.

Please help?

Willem,

I don't know of such a possibility. but what you could try is a feature called Portal Groups. There is no UI included in the Platform (Community Edition), but there is a module that brings up this as well: http://dnnportalgroups.codeplex.com/

This allows you to share users and modules across different portals - you canot import a complete tree, but but you can add existing modules from a different portal (in the same DNN installation), and the users can use both (or more) portals with the same credentials. Test it and have fun.

Happy DNNing!

Thanks Michael !

I tried this module but unfortunately you can only share users/modules and not the pages.
This doesn't do the trick for me but thanks anyway!

The pages are in the same DNN instance so it must be possible to mave them to another portal.
Isn't this possible in datadase, SQL query?

Anyone?

Willem,

If you export as a Portal Template, you should be able to use the Site Wizard to import the "tree" that you exported.

You may need to manually modify the template that is exported, though, to only include the tree that you want to be able to import.

How can I use the Site wizard to import pages in an existing portal?
