hi everybody

i have some errors after moving dnn to new server with this infortmation:

IIS 8  - SQL Server 2012 - windows server 2012 R2

4 GB RAM - CPU 2 Core Xeon E3-1240 V2

now my portals web sites some times have different errors! I should say that the IIS is using some times 99% of CPU !

some times have this error:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The wait operation timed out --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection. there seem to be a performance issue with the database, what are database and transaction log sizes and how many rows have top tables (in SQL Server management studio, right click database node and select reports > default > space used by top tables)

I am using dnn 7.4.1 and database log file size was about 8 gig and i shrink it and decreased the size of it . i have about 30 site in 1 dnn and the table that have many rows is "DnnForge_NewsArticles_Page" (557MB), "DnnForge_NewsArticles_Article"(136MB), "Exceptions"(102MB) , "HtmlText"(23MB) just it, other tables are less than 8MB!

but some thing i should say that on the old server i didn't have any problem and the new servers hardware is stronger than the older...

I think it's better to say that on the new server just have a little changes in dnn web.config file. always on the old servers we write Data Source=localhost but now i changed it to localhost\MSSQLSERVER2012 because of moving the database from 2008 to 2012!

NewsArticle tables should contain real Content (maybe including Versions and outdated stuff.
You should be able to shrink eventlog (see http://www.dnnsoftware.com/community-...), the other Content should be required.
You Need to modify your connection string, if you are using a named non-Default instance of SQL Server, as it looks like you are doing. However, this should affect neither performance nor size of your database.
