Hi all,

I need help with configuring impersonation on our intranet.

Just a background. We are subscribing to Symantec Cloud for our web filtering and using AD for authentication. In our intranet (DNN 7), we have a Facebook wall module that basically pulling contents from our Facebook community page and presents it in a page (in intranet). The reason for doing so is that not every user has the rights to access social networking portals (e.g. Facebook) and not everyone has a Facebook account. However, we ran into problems as those users without the Facebook access rights will be presented with a blank screen while those authorized to access will be presented with a screen full of contents.

I am quite confident that it's Symantec Cloud that blocked those non-sanctioned users from getting the contents from the targeted Facebook community page. I need to turn ON https filtering in order for me to create an exception but our systems engineering team thinks this will involve too many changes. So, my other alternative is to use IMPERSONATION. I had wrote a simple one page aspx to test it out (the code System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().Name in the page returns the correct generic AD account that was assigned to be impersonated) and in theory, it works.

Question now is, am I on the right path? to circumnavigate the Symantec Cloud blockage? Anyone can share their experience with regards to implementing Impersonation in their DNN setup? Things to look out for? If you can share any write ups that I can read and get myself ready before taking the dive?

Thanks in advanced!
