Hi guys,

has anyone else experienced an issue where the HTML tag is being completely stripped from the output? I was trying to find out what could be causing this weird issue.

The issue is happening on the setting pages. View pages are fine. As soon as my default.aspx contains just an empty  <% %> before skinDocType literal the HTML Tag is completely removed. Theme issue?

t.

The same issue can be reproduced in a new vanilla 7.4.1 installation.

usually the DNN editor strips out all scripts, but not HTML. please check the editor settings in Host > HTML Editor configuration

I am not talking about HTML Module. I am talking about the default.aspx which is used to render all the pages. If you add <% %> in default.aspx in the root of the website the settings pages, login page etc. get the HTML tag stripped out for some reason. The <% %> block should not cause anything but it's doing something to the special pages... that could be a hint...

In default.aspx you have this...

>

but since the html tag gets stripped out and the attributeList gets rendered you get a string of attributes which are interpreted as text.

tags like <% ... %> get evaluated by ASP.Net and replaced by the resolved code inside.
