I’ve purchased a skin (Simple) that has jquery sliders included.  I’m a bit unsure how to take advantage of them.  I’ve tried putting them in the install folder, going through the extension wizard, and no luck.  A slider module is available if I’m scrolling through skins and containers, but do I need to install them?  Is there css that needs to happen?  I’ve tried contacting the company through DNN Software, and I’m not having much success.  My DNN development expertise is moderate.

Help??

When you say you contacted the vendor through DNN, do you mean on DNN Store? Did you use the Help Desk?

Perhaps if you give us more details, someone here might be able to give some additional guidance.

Jim,

Sorry to hear you are having issues with the slider included in the skin you purchased. The vendor should respond to you through the store. If they do not then I would raise the issue to the store managers.

It's difficult to help without knowing what skin & slider you are trying to implement. If you don't get any response from the vendor in a reasonable amount of time then maybe you can share the skin file you purchased and the community can try to assist. It should be relatively straight forward, but sometimes that is not the case.

By chance does the vendor provide any user guides or instructional pdf's in the store or on their site? Those may help some until you can get a response.

Apologies, first off.  That post was sent at the end of the work day, and a bit haphazardly.

Here's the skin in question:  http://demo.bestdnnskins.com/simple2/...

There are four JQuery sliders included, and I'm not sure how to take advantage of them.  Is it a css style sheet that should be included?  Code for the pages in question?

Often times JQuery plugins do also work with a CSS file...  but not always.

I think you will want to look closely at this file:

http://demo.bestdnnskins.com/Portals/_default/Skins/Simple/js/custom.js  for that particular skin.  It will reveal how the sliders are being initialized which I suspect is your blockage right now.  I would bet that you just have to modify the JQuery selectors to make sure that the js finds the right element on your page.
