I probably have more issues with users forgetting their user name than any other single issue on the site.

I have tried setting the site to use email as a username, but I just get an error (this is in DNN 07.04.00 (353))

Message:Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the subquery follows =, !=, <, <= , >, >= or when the subquery is used as an expression.

StackTrace:

What can I do to migrate my users from using their old login names to using their email addresses?

Have you checked that all users have unique email address in the database? I think you shoud at first make sure that all users have UNIQUE (!) email address.

you should upgrade to DNN 7.4.2, where a number of issues in this area have been fixed.

OK. I've definitely got duplicate email addresses in the system. I'm addressing that, and have upgraded to 7.4.2 Now I have another problem! Which I will post another thread on. Thanks for the advice.
