Hi, we created a number of portals using version 07.04.01 (280), all seems to be fine i,e we can edit and add modules, pages etc...until we try and access the page settings in either page management or direct on a page, we then receive an error which I have listed below.

I have had similar issues in the past caused by different language settings but not sure if this is the same, as we did not add any extra languages other than default.
Any ideas guys??

AFAIR this bug has been fixed in DNN 7.4.2 (though I am not 100% sure).

 Hi Sebastain.

We updated to 7.4.2 but are still receiving this error, we cannot even modify site settings, as soon as we try and update a change we get this error

Error: Site Settings is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DesktopModules.Admin.Portals.SiteSettings.UpdatePortal(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace -

I dont suppose anyone might have a starter for ten as to where to investigate and what to look for

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this but we were affected by the flooding and this was low priority at the time. Now we are moving on this again hence my re posting.

It is very odd as a couple of the portals are fine and one thing I have discovered this morning is that they have the superuser listed as administrator in the security tab in site settings. In the other portals the security settings listbox is empty?? I tried manually adding an administrator but their was no security roles to add to the new user.

There are no roles listed in admin security roles

Does anyone have an sql fix for this or at least point me in the right direction to fix it

FYI, I have been able to fix this by reapplying the default blank site template. after doing so it recreated the roles and superuser admin.
