New to DNN - helping company with their website.  Website is in place and has been for a number of years.  I want to create a new website to try out some different designs to their webpages.  If I use the site wizard to create a new website does it affect the current site that is in operation?  I don't want any changes to the current site until the new site's format is approved.  Is this the way to do it?

Or, is there a way to download the current site into a new version of DNN on my personal home computer?

you may either create a new website (in Host > Site Management) based on any template or you may backup DNN files and database and restore to your local pc.
On your local PC, you need to adopt both connection strings and add the local address as additional alias in PortalAlias table in the database.
