From the looks of things you have tried to install DNN as a virtual folder under the IIS root - this it not an optimal configuration.
You should always configure sites as stand alone websites as opposed to virtualfolders under any other sites.  ASP.NET tries to inherit web.config settings from parent folders and this can cause issues with complex application platforms.

In relation to targeting domains - you need to possibly look at local hosts file remapping of your domain names if you want to be able to directly target a www.blah.com inside your firewall ... as a rule www.blah.com will map to a public ip address - which will likely be hidden inside your firewall.  You would need to setup local mappings to the internal address of your webserver.

What I did was follow the directions given by the DNN videos to create this website.  I will try to install it a different way.

No matter what I try to do, I cannot get my site up and running under windows 10.  I tried creating the site under a directory of "C:\websites" but nothing would work and IIS requires the website be created under "C:\inetpub\wwwroot".  So i removed everything and created my website under this location.  All i get is the error from above.  Can someone please tell me what is wrong, I havebeen dealing with this problem for over 2 weeks.

please be aware that you need to run it using .net 4.0 or 4.5
You might need to reregister ASP.NET for your IIS
don't forget to unblock downloaded install package (in file properties) prior to unzipping the files.
