Hello DNN Support,

I have a multilingual website with the default language set to french. My client asked me to change the default language to English after the content localization was done.

Is there a way to change the default language or make the website go automatically to the english version without deleting my whole translation?

This is a very big website and neither me or my client wants to re-do the whole translation.

Thank you

you may switch in the database, however this includes for all pages relation between original and translated page.
What is the reason for switching the default, maybe there is a workaround.

Hi Sebastian and thank you for the quick reply,

First of all, the reason why French is the default language is because my company is located in Quebec where the majority of people speak french.

When I type www.mywebsite.com it goes to the french version, I want it to go the english version because my client's customers are mainly located in the United Sates that's why we wanna change the default language.

Thank you

Antony, DNN is deriving default language from the browser settings, i.e. the US customers will get English version.
Only users with English not in the browser preference list will get use site default language.

I tested locally with different browsers set to english and it's the french content that shows up by default.

See it by yourself:
