Hey guys,

I've been trying to setup a local install of DNN as part of configuring module development environment I'm following these tutorials and I've encountered an issue when it comes to launching the site and beginning the install process. I've run into the issue outlined here where the install page for DNN is broken and I've tried the troubleshoot techniques outlined but the problem persists and I can't figure out why.

When you extract the contents of the install folder, are you using Windows to unzip the file? If so I would download and try something like 7 Zip (http://www.7-zip.org).

In the past when I've had an install look like that (without styling) it was because there were missing files due to the unzipping process not extracting them all.

Hope this helps...

Hey Clinton, I gave that a try with 7-zip on a fresh install and also tried the process on a different install package and seems the issue is still persisting something tells me it's a permission issue or perhaps a missing file issue like you said on my side but I can't for the life of me figure out where it is falling apart, permissions have been set for the required user on the folder containing DNN install files (and all sub-folders/files) and it seems to be extracting fine from what I can tell.

Did you unblock the zip file before the extract? That's a source of missing files. http://dynamisys.co.uk/ArticlesDownlo...

Hey, yeah I've unblocked the zip files for both versions I've tested as outlined in the tutorial I followed and still no luck unfortunately.
