Is there a way to stop social group posts from showing in the main journal? Even is a group is set to private and someone posts a status message, it automatically posts to the main site journal which seems ridiculous really. What would be the point of having a private group if you can't control the security of the group? This is either totally broken or there are some security settings I have missed. There should be a journal type for social group posts at the very least. Is there a hack or work around for this? Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks.

it should post to the journal, but apply the correct security key, allowing just group members to see the item, if the group is set to private.

Yeah, it doesn't seem to be applying the correct key then because every group status message gets posted on the main journal. Unless you change the security to something other than everyone, in which case nothing gets posted anywhere. This functionality is still broken in version 8 as well.

the social groups module should not be visible to everyone, but registered users only. But items of private groups need to be secured by group id, this seems to be a bug. please log at support.dnnsoftware.com
