Hi,

I would like to change the Link text for "Terms of Use" and "Privacy Statement".

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Sajjad

Your post asks about the Header text and the Link text.  They are actually two different things.  If you mean the module header, then the solution is to create a hidden tab and place the Terms and Privacy statements just like any other content.  Then edit your skin so that the links are to your customized, hidden tabs.

If you just want to edit the text in the links, you can do that in the skin, just by adding the TEXT attribute to each skin object (like as in page 60 of DotNetNuke Skinning.pdf.)

Sorry Shane,

but there might be a misunderstanding. "Terms of Use" and "Privacy Statement" are Skin objects, pointing to special pages.

To edit the texts, login as host or admin and goto host::languages (if you want to change it for all portal) or admin::languages (to change it per portal individually). Choose the language editor from the action menu and select the appropriate file:

  • for link texts itself choose local resources\admin\skins\terms.ascx and \admin\skins\privacy.ascx
  • for content of terms and privacy choose \globalResources\globalresources.ascx and search for Message_Portal_Privacy.Text and Message_Portal_Terms.Text

Save your changes - done.

Thanks guys... leupold's suggestions works perfectly.  One last item.  How do I cahnge the text "Privacy Statement" that shows up on the top of the privacy statement page?  It seems like it is the module header for this page.

That's what I understood you to be asking, which is why I posted the suggestion that I did.  Leupold's suggestion is great but I don't believe it changes the module header.  To do that, I think you need to follow my suggestion of creating a separate hidden tab for each of those pages.
