Hi Dan,

Either of @model and @inherits directive can be used and will work for MVC module. There is no preference as to why you should use @model only and not @inherits. @model was introduced in MVC 3. You can read more about them here http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/asp-ne...

So, you don't need to worry at all if the intellisense is not working due to some reason. You can still continue to use whichever you like.

Thanks Amarjit, but I would rather get the intellisense to work for me as I pretty much rely on it. I have never done andy MVC programming so I am just learning. Getting old doesn't help remembering all the classes, syntax's etc.
I have been scouring the web for answers and they mostly point to the web.config, I just don't understand why this happens when everything is ok when I create a new web MVC Application and not when I use the templates.
Thanks again for your help and I will keep digging.

Hate to necro this but this was the first result when I looked up a similar problem I was having. The fix for this intellisense and @Dnn not working with an MVC module, at least in my case, was I had set the Debug and Release builds for my projects to output to different directories. Changing them both to 'bin\' instead of 'bin\Debug\' and 'bin\Release\' and then reloading and rebuilding fixed it for me.
