So every timestamp is a call to a js convert method? That works.

Did a quick trial and yes, this is possible to implement :)

In this example the dates are rendered from UTC to client timezone in browser using javascript. Also, if the day is today it will show only time, not date & time.

Will need to find all the places where this is used, so looks like this will be part of next forum release.

there is code in DNN to convert from server time to user time (from user profile) though this is a bit easier from UTC.
I.e. this could be done server side and doesn't need client side conversion on every time stamp.
Note that user time preference interface has changed in DNN 6, when we switched from DNN proprietary time zones to windows time zones.

Are you saying that it works also for unauthenticated users?

See few posts back how the forum now uses dates.

The weird thing is that this functionality used to work correctly in the Forum module.

So at some point something broke it - or it was removed.
