In here it for sure doesn't work, but on the latest released version by me it does work like described few posts back.

There was already quite many fixes implemented around this.

there is code in DNN to convert from server time to user time (from user profile) though this is a bit easier from UTC.
I.e. this could be done server side and doesn't need client side conversion on every time stamp.
Note that user time preference interface has changed in DNN 6, when we switched from DNN proprietary time zones to windows time zones.

I prefer client side conversion for 3 reasons:

1- It will work for unauthenticated users

2- It works no matter where you are. If you travel a lot, there's no need to remember and update the user setting every time you're in a different time zone.

3- Some users might know such a setting exists

Got this basically working, but to format datetime also based on local computer is a mess... will probably just show some *standard* type of date.
There seems to be very varying formatting in each browser and browser version how this javascript formats these and cannot really trust that all of those will fit or look nice.
Tried also some javascript libraries, but those also had plenty of issues around this.

Tried that, not working. It was messing up dates from beginning of February - at least - did not recognise them correctly and was showing that date from past was on tomorrow...
Also, did not get that to recognise cultures, those should be entered there by the code if date formatting to be used.
