We are using DNN 7.4.2

Some of my users have recently started using social features more on the site. As a result they are getting notifications emails.

The merges in the emails are working OK, except for hyperlinks. The hyperlinks are always created without the web address, just the folder path.

Here is a typical result. Note that the "Follow Back" and "View Profile" hyperlinks are links without the site domain included.

You are now being followed by JohnSmith

Follow back | View Profile

So the links are like:
http://tabid/59/userId/1206/action/FollowBack/Default.aspx

I am also seeing this behaviour with notification emails from internal messaging. Links to the messages are without the site domain name.

I've checked the templates under the languages settings, and they look normal. For example, the templates for the above message are:

AddFollowerRequestBody.Text:
You are now being followed by {0}

EMAIL_SOCIAL_FOLLOWREQUESTACTIONS.Text:

Follow back | View Profile

Hi,

have you tried using Advanced Url Management? Is the problem there as well?

Happy DNNing!

do you have a primary site alias (in Admin > Site Settings, 2nd tab), on multilingual sites you additionally need a primary one for each active language.

Seb, the world would be a poorer place without you.

Somehow I have three aliases, and none of them are set as primary. The "Active" one is the only one that SHOULD be there. The other two are beta/dev aliases.

How can I fix this? Happy to work in the database if that's the easiest way.

Dylan.

thanks a lot :)

you either need to login using a different alias to make the current one a "primary" one or edit the row in table "PortalAlias" and set "isPrimary" to 1.

You'll need to restart DNN, in order for these changes to become effective.
