Hi, we have a requirement to upload about 50 folders each containing a Video and other documentation including a pdf and powerpoint file. Is there any modules for the community version that might work similar to the documents viewer on pro where we can automatically display the folders and allow users to click through and view videos and ppt's

We may need to do this on a regular basis so an easy peasy way is what we are looking for.

You may use File Management module on user pages as well and grant view permission for the module.

Thanks Sebastian , I had already spotted the Digital Assest management module which I assume is what you are refering to. That worked a treat once we added the mp4 to allowed extensions in host.
I should also have added that its main users will be using a corporate build of windows 7 with IE as the browser ( which does not have a native MP4 player) we are fully up on service packs in IE so not much more we can do there.. For the moment we are ok as the first to start using this do have chrome and firefox which work perfectly (Its always IE !! although Edge might be ok ).

We also wanted some way of tagging the videos and associated files in the folders so we can perform some clever searches or filtering, if nothing is available commercially we may look to to build our own.

there is an advanced File Management module by Evotiva available in the store - I haven't tried it yet, but you might want to check it out.

That looks very good Sebastian, it has a shed load of options and works with cloud storage buckets as well.  This may well be something we would want anyway.
